in 2002, Deutsche Bahn AG, the national railroad of Germany, acquired
Stinnes Corporation, Miller’s parent company of 26 years, with the
intention of keeping all of Stinnes’ logistics oriented business units
and spinning off the other companies deemed non-core to their long-term
strategy. Early in 2003, Miller’s senior management entered into
negotiations with the parent company and on November 14, 2003 the purchase
was concluded. We are pleased to both return Miller to U.S. ownership and
to continue our longstanding partnership with our valuable customers and
suppliers. Miller and Company continues its longstanding tradition of Service, Quality, and Integrity under the same dynamic team that solidified the company’s standing as the premier supplier of raw materials to the ferrous foundry and steel industries of North America.
