Badger Mining markets its products throughout the world. Over twenty percent of its production is exported for various industrial uses. In 1993 BMC was named Wisconsin's Manufacturer of the Year Award and in 1995 Exporter of the Year in its business category.

BMC has aggressively expanded its distribution and export operations. This expansion has opened up new markets for its industrial silica sand products. The foundry industry is the largest market served by BMC. Other markets include, hydraulic fracturing gravel packing, water filtration abrasive refinishing, art glass production, substrate for agri-chemicals, fillers, and grouts.

Badger Mining Corporation has three mining and production facilities located in Wisconsin: Fairwater, Taylor, and Green Lake. Twenty transloading and warehousing facilities have been established throughout the US and Canada. Award Exporting and warehousing facilities in Houston, TX and Lafayette, LA. serve the overseas industrial markets.

Plant Profiles:
The Fairwater Plant processes silica sand from the St. Peter formation near Fairwater, WI. All sands are hydraulically mined, washed, dried adn screened. The gradations produced from these rounded grain sands yield superior casting results and lower binder requirements with all chemically bonded systems. Grades range from 45 to 75 AFS-GFN.

The Taylor Plant produces silica sand grades from the Wonewoc formation. State-of-the-art processing equipment yields high quality products for industrial applications. The hard, rounded grains of this formation provide many advantages as a foundry sand-low binder requirements, compatibility with all chemical binder and excellent reclaimability. Grades are available from 30 to 62 AFS-GFN.

The St. Marie Plant processes silica sand from the Jordan sandstone formation near Green Lake, WI. Sands from this formation are mined, dried, screened and blended. These whole grained angular and sub-angular sands produce excellent casting finish. Gradations range from 80-110 AFS-GFN.

The St. Marie Plant also processes bank sand deposits located near Green Lake, WI. Sands from these deposits are mined, dried, screened and blened. The natural, low-clay content and the angular and sub-angular grain shape produce excellent casting finish in green sand and shell sand systems. Custom gradations range from 60-75 AFS-GFN.

Projected Goals:
BMC'S Future Badger Mining has aggressively expanded its warehousing and distribution network to over 20 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Recently acquired reserves and upgraded production capabilities will allow Badger Mining to be a reliable source of industrial silica sands well into the twenty-first century

Recent staff additions in the areas of environmental engineering and marketing have positioned Badger Mining to meet the challenges facing the foundry and silica sand industries. The associates at Badger Mining enthusiastically look forward to working with its customers to maintain a healthy foundry market, economically and environmentally. The continued success of Badger Mining is tied to its participative management philosophy, its innovative, quality oriented associates, and its satisfied customer base.
