The ZIP-SLIP® release agents, formulated by Black Sales Co. exclusively for Ashland Chemical, eliminate chlorofluorocarbons and 1,1,1-trichloroethane. The ISOSET® Binder Process, exclusively from Ashland Chemical, provides the highest productivity possible of any binder system through instantaneous cure while eliminating formaldehyde, isocyanate, nitrogen, and water. And Ashland has introduced improved water-based refractory coatings.
In addition, binder systems especially designed for aluminum and cold box molding have been successfully commercialized. Ashland Chemical leads the industry in value-added customer services, including a SAFE FOUNDRY program to assist foundries in complying with increasingly complex U.S. health, safety, and environmental regulations. Overseas Ashland Chemical affiliates have created compliance programs as well. Additional environmental services include the ISOCYCLE™ amine catalyst recovery program; the Van Leer drum recycling program; and health, safety, and environmental training.
