HA International LLC
Company Profile HA International, a joint venture company of Borden Chemical, Inc., and Delta-HA, serves the North American foundry industry as the largest supplier of products for core/mold production. Our parent organizations are highly integrated in the global chemical industry: Borden Chemical, Inc., is the largest producer of Formaldehyde and Phenolic resins in North America, and Hüttenes Albertus supplies the global foundry industry through a network of subsidiary and affiliated companies. HA International offers the North American foundry industry the most comprehensive range of products supported in three market segments: Resins Systems for bonding sand; Resin Coated Sand for the shell process; and Refractory Coatings. Resin systems include: shell resins, ester cured phenolic resins-vapor cured and nobake, phenolic urethane coldbox and nobake resins, acid curing furan and phenolic resins, hot box resins, and inorganic binders. RCSs available from HAI include products for general purpose, aluminum, low nitrogen and specialty coated sands such as zircon. Refractory coatings include products for iron, steel, and lost foam applications, as well as foundry ancillary products such as adhesives and release agents. Capabilities HA International
supplies products manufactured at a number of strategic locations across North America.
All of HA Internationals primary manufacturing locations are ISO 9000 certified and
include: the resin production operation in Louisville; the resin coated sand operations in
Illinois; and the refractory coating operation in Toledo, Ohio. HA International also has
ongoing programs at all locations to maintain and expand our certification under both ISO
and QS guidelines. HA International
recently opened a new Research & Development facility which is co-located with the
global headquarters in Westmont, IL. The new
state-of-the-art laboratories include: facilities for conducting analytical chemistry
evaluations; synthesizing resin polymers; and developing refractory coatings; all related
to applications in the foundry field. HA
International maintains a high profile in relation to new and improved products for
foundry applications and employs the largest dedicated R&D staff in the
industry. Outstanding examples of the R&D efforts are ALpHASET and BETASET, a new
class of resins introduced into the foundry industry in the early 80's. Other examples of our innovative R&D activity
include products in the phenolic urethane coldbox field, which set the industry
performance standard including: Sigma Cure PERFORMANCE and BIODIESEL
Series resins. In addition, the Techniset Z Series phenolic urethane
nobake resins offer low VOCs products based biodiesel technology. HA
Internationals resins are specifically designed to enhance performance properties
related to productivity, tooling release, humidity and moisture resistance, and establish
a performance benchmark for the foundry industry. As
the leading producer of refractory coatings in North America, HAI continues to focus on
technology as illustrated by its leadership in the EPS (or lost foam) sector. Our
R&D commitment to the foundry industry will continue to emphasize constant improvement
in the performance characteristics and productivity of our products. HA
Internationals Management, Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, R&D and Customer
Service Departments work closely with customers to assure on time delivery of quality
products to the industry. Our Best
Total Solution philosophy is to establish strategic relationships with customers
with the objective of improving productivity and performance while providing a safe,
